At Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church we believe the Christian life is best lived in community! Just as Sunday morning corporate worship is vital to our spiritual health and growth, we believe it is crucial to interact regularly with a smaller group of believers. Our small groups are dynamic groups that provide a community of accountability and encouragement as well as spiritual growth.
We provide several opportunities for adults at TABC to connect to a group:

John's letter to the seven churches was not an undecipherable mystery to its original recipients, but it can sure be befuddling to we modern believers. John's use of phrases and symbols that were very familiar to Christians and Jews (and even to ordinary Roman citizens in some instances), requires a little sleuthing to bring his message into focus in our own time. Crossing the cultural and historical divide using scholarly sources will shed more light on the purpose and message of Revelation. It is a message of perseverance and hope!
The Good and Beautiful You by James Bryan Smith

The Christian faith is not only about belief and practices, it is also about the kind of people that we become. Yet some of the biggest barriers to our transformation come from our toxic self-narratives. These narratives shape the way we see ourselves and the way we interact in the world. God designed us with a deep longing in our souls to be wanted, loved, alive, and connected to God. Healing our souls requires more than knowing what God thinks about us. Our healing comes not through reason alone, but through revelation. This study will help us understand how Scripture reveals the beauty and goodness of our own souls and how we long for healing that only God can provide. We’ll develop spiritual practices that help us live into that reality.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
This is the promise to all those who hope in the name of Jesus. And yet, for most moms, rest feels distant and elusive. How do we accept Jesus’s invitation to rest, when our eyes are reddened from sleepless nights and our hearts are weary with the demands of motherhood? Within the pages of Beside Still Waters, we invite you to discover what it means to rest in Jesus—no matter what you’re facing in this season as a mom.

The Titus Ten: Foundations for Godly Manhood by Josh Smith
Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00 am, beginning 9/4
Led by Scott Waters
East Building, room 205
Books are $11
Everything in a man’s life hinges on the kind of man he is. Yet, none of us is naturally a godly man. That's something we have to learn, pursue, and cultivate. This book is a manual for becoming the kind of man God intends for you to be, and leading other men to do the same. Taking ten qualities from the Apostle Paul's short letter to his mentee Titus, The Titus Ten will help you grow in your understanding of the gospel, your identity, your character, your doctrine, and more. Each chapter includes questions for reflection and discussion, to both process the way the Lord is growing you, and read in a group with other men. As you grow in these areas of your life, you'll become the kind of man God desires to use in your family, your church, and the world.
