At Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church we believe the Christian life is best lived in community! Just as Sunday morning corporate worship is vital to our spiritual health and growth, we believe it is crucial to interact regularly with a smaller group of believers. Our small groups are dynamic groups that provide a community of accountability and encouragement as well as spiritual growth.

We provide several opportunities for adults at TABC to connect to a group:

SPRING 2026 GROUPS

CO-ED

Rooted
Sundays, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Beginning January 11

*Rooted is full for the Spring 2026 semester but is offered every semester. If you are interested in joining the next group, please indicate on the form below.

Rooted isn’t simply a bible study or a book. It is a community experience, where people practice 7 rhythms essential to a healthy relationship with Jesus. Individuals establish firm roots in the Truth of God’s Word through personal study and then come together to discuss what they’re learning in a space where they are safe and known. Read more here.

GriefShare
Tuesdays, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Beginning January 13
Cost: $20 for participant workbook

A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

Revelation: Unchained
The End of the World as You Know It: What the Bible really says about the End Times (And why it's good news!)

Tuesdays, 9:30 - 11:00 am, restarting January 13
Led by Judy Decker
South Building, rooms 5&6
Books are $15

John's letter to the seven churches was not an undecipherable mystery to its original recipients, but it can sure be befuddling to we modern believers. John's use of phrases and symbols that were very familiar to Christians and Jews (and even to ordinary Roman citizens in some instances), requires a little sleuthing to bring his message into focus in our own time.  Crossing the cultural and  historical divide using scholarly sources will shed more light on the purpose and message of Revelation. It is a message of perseverance and hope! This study is continued from last semester but new participants are welcome to join!

Overwhelmed Mom: Quiet the Chaos, Mind What Matters, and Enjoy Your Life Again by Jamie Erickson
Thursdays, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, beginning January 15
Led by Erin Blocker
Cost is $10

Childcare is available

Is there a happy medium between Pinterest perfection and chaos culture? Moms hear a chorus of competing messages. One minute, we’re told we can do it all, and the next, we’re encouraged to be “real women” who live as “Hot Mess Mombies.” Both anthems—perfection and chaos—leave us feeling burdened.

In Overwhelmed Mom, Jamie Erickson shows us how to push back against the weariness epidemic that plagues so many women on both ends of the spectrum. Through biblical principles and flexible solutions, she’ll help us learn to adjust our homes, schedules, and attitudes so that we may experience right-now relief and forward movement in common stress areas.

The Try-Hard gospel of the world assures us that if we just got up earlier, stayed up later, and micromanaged every waking moment, we can outrun our overwhelm. But no amount of running on empty will ever help us catch up. Reshaping a harried life is long-game, soul work.

Overwhelmed Mom equips women to edit their lives with intention, find purpose and vision in the work God has called them to, and create daily rhythms that will help them steward their days with delight, not drudgery.

The Good and Beautiful Community by James Bryan Smith
Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, beginning January 15
Led by Staci Sull
Books are $15

Childcare is available

In this Good and Beautiful Series book, James Bryan Smith helps us know how to live in relationship with others as apprentices of Jesus. "Apprentices of Jesus are not part-time do-gooders," he writes. "They live in continuous contact with the kingdom of God, and are constantly men and women in whom Christ dwells. They do not sometimes tell the truth, sometimes live sacrificially or sometimes forgive. There are myriad opportunities for us to impact the world in which we live." Yet many times we've gotten it wrong, tending to emphasize personal faith over social justice or vice versa. In this book, you will learn how to bring spiritual formation and community engagement together, and spiritual practices that root new, true narratives about God and the world in our souls. This study will lead us to live in authentic ways as a good and beautiful community of Christ-followers, shining the light of the Spirit into every relationship.

MEN

The God Story: Encountering Unfailing Love in the Unfolding Narrative of Scripture by Alain Emerson and Adam Cox
Mondays, 6:00 - 7:15 pm, beginning February 2
Led by Matthew Hastings and Shane Cline
East Building, room 205
Cost is $15

Each one of our lives is a unique and unrepeatable creation. Each one of our stories is precious and worthy of being told, shared and experienced. Yet none of our stories make sense in isolation, disconnected from a wider plot. Our stories only truly find meaning when they are linked to the very source of our lives and the unfolding drama into which we were born.

The God Story is a compelling and creative retelling of the biblical story from 24-7 Prayer, which will help you find personal meaning and purpose in light of God's overarching and awe-inspiring plans for humanity as laid out in Scripture. It is the story we're all waiting to hear.

One with My Lord by Sam Allberry
Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00 am, beginning January 15
Led by Scott Waters
East Building, room 205

Followers of Jesus refer to themselves primarily as “Christians,” but the New Testament frequently used a more meaningful term: “in Christ.” Disconnected from this deeper understanding of the gospel, believers today can miss out on the significance of unity with the Lord and its power to enrich every area of their lives.

In One with My Lord, Sam Allberry examines the doctrine of union with Christ through a rich study of New Testament scriptures. Each chapter is short enough to be read as a devotional, giving believers a fresh lens to view the gospel daily as they pursue holiness, resist sin, build community, and worship God. In a time when people are searching for a place to belong, One with My Lord reminds believers that they have a perfect home in Christ.
